... train food, and it was our last train in China. Our first hurdle was the menu, it was all in Chinese with no pictures however with the help of miming, the Lonely Planet language section and Chinese/English app we managed to order a chicken dish, a beef dish, vegetables and rice, we even got a watery, tomatoey, eggy soup as well. Our first Train trip. Big train.We booked a soft sleeper as instructed. Our waiting room was huge and like a VIP airline lounge. From there we had separate access to the train so didn't have to walk with other passengers. Two bunks up and two down. We had the company of two Chinese ladies, mother and daughter we think.
