Our first Train trip. Big train.We booked a soft sleeper as instructed. Our waiting room was huge and like a VIP airline lounge. From there we had separate access to the train so didn't have to walk with other passengers. Two bunks up and two down. We had the company of two Chinese ladies, mother and daughter we think. ... the one when we got to Dali was even worse. The houses have murals painted on them and these vary according to the ethnicity of the owners. Dali is mostly Bai people and their houses are decorated with intricate black and white patterns and murals on the walls.
