As promised, the host of our apartment was waiting for us at the end of the pier and whisked off in his car to the apartment. What a lovely surprise – Philip was a delightful Croate who loves his country and his city of Split. The apartment is thoroughly modern in an ancient building with stone walls. Very clean – and fast Wi-Fi. Whew!!

... Apparently there's quite a bit about her on Trip Advisor and I'm not surprised. Her English was excellent and she spoke in the gutsy way that reminded me of Barbara Streisand!

  • The afternoon was given up to the beach and the sea once again. The next ocean I'll see will be the Baltic as I'm now heading inland. I'll really miss it.

There were some very large drops from lake to lake, then were were also sections that seemed to have 100 ponds all overflowing into each other. Everywhere you looked was a breath taking sight.
