... journey, partly to review my course in Japanese and extract the verbs and vocabulary needed for the tasks of travel, and mostly because I loved this ryokan with its old wooden buildings looking like samurai houses and stone lanterns and paths through plantings, and lit torches at night.

Next on the path was the Former Shinkouji Temple. This former temple has become a resting place for visitors and residents alike. From the second floor you can get a great glimpse of the old buildings and stone path ...
Kizantei Hotel is located just about a 15 minute walk from Hita Station. Accessible by JR train from Fukuoka or Oita. From Hita Station to the hotel you will walk through Kuma Town, which is a charming area that takes you back in time with the old shops and tile rooftops. The opposite side of the station also leads you to Mameda Town which is also a back-in-time town with other tourist attractions such as the Gion Matsuri Museum where you can see ...

For this reason I recommend taking a bus out to Yabakei Town where you can stay at a place called Yabakei Cycling Terminal. (097-954-2655)

Just viewing your CV for 10 seconds can be enough for a potential employer to decide whether or not to offer you an interview. Remember you only have one chance to make a first impression so you need to make it a good one! This is hard enough to do in your home country; imagine how hard it will be in a foreign country where you not only have to produce a great CV but you also need to do it in another language. You and your CV are a ...

public baths and barber shops that they can have a big sign next door for the brothel!
I will definatley return to Beppu one day and try out all the different types of baths. I don't know if I could come with a mate though as I would not want to sit naked with them in a bath!
Headed out early again to Aso from Kumamoto. Aso is situation within the caldera (crater) of the largest volcano that existed on Earth that we know of. And in the middle of it sits a few extinct volcanoes plus one that still spews steam and smoke.
Headed by bus up to the cable car station and walked up to the volcano, which was apparently giving off noxious fumes so they closed off access to the site, which wasted a trip for most of the visitors. Besides, the wind was ...
... standards! It's weird that a whole town has developed in the bottom of the calder - once the volcano erupts again - they'll all be toast. When we get back down to the town Jim decides on sampling the public baths here - he's really got into this thing - after the sand baths at Ikubusi I decide to give it a miss! Mind you he's cleaner than he's been for the whole of this trip. The following day we take the bus up to the top of Nake Dake ...
