We got to Nakatsu City and stayed at a local business hotel called the Route Inn. (097-985-0050)It was close to the station and included breakfast for about 50$ a person. A typical deal. Staying in the city gives you the chance to check out Nakatsu Castle and some local museums and shrines, which I would say are points of interest for those into Japanese history or religion.

... service to help you either write or translate a resume and cover letter. This can be a challenging task and is one that you can’t afford to make a mistake on. You may think that you have translated or written it perfectly but in situations like this there will generally be mistakes either within your writing or your grammar; a professional translation service on the other hand will leave you with a CV that not only ...

to the center of the city.

After my long bike ride, I decided to bite the bullet and try out one of these Onsen thingies. Deep down I was terrified of getting ...
... atrociously cold, despite being nice and sunny so most people were quite happy to snap a few photos from afar and leave. Especially for a group of Californians (school trip?) who were biking around Kyushu. The leader forgot her wallet at the hostel, jumped onto the bus without any idea which stop was the one she wanted and had no way to communicate to the bus driver her intentions. Unable to put up with the awkwardness, I ended up offering her directions--you'd think it'd ...
Beppu, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan mchao... on the big fellow yet. It's on my to-do list, really. He plays for the Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix (say that 3 times real fast!) of the Basketball Japan League. Teammates often call him Ming Ming or Sun. When he dunks the ball, it feels as if the entire floor is shaking. He mostly lumbers down the floor, but has a soft shooting touch.
Beppu, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan odevened... the station, had another great cheap tempura rice bowl - consists of a bowl of rice with batter-fried vegetables and two of the biggest prawns I've seen, with a bowl of miso soup. I also ordered a small jar of warm sake. This stuff was really nice, smooth and sweet, not like the rough stuff we swigged out of a carton in Kyoto. Perhaps not the greatest idea after broiling my brain in the Onsen; the sake made me a bit woozy. The restaurant was a ...

Beppu, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan frdrick...

Katherine and Mike also surprised me with a little cake and candles from a convenience store. They all sang happy birthday to me and the whole restaurant clapped. It was a bit embarrassing, but a lot of fun. Plus I can now say that I've eaten chocolate cake with chopsticks. A perfect way to end a wonderful birthday. Monday morning I arose early to ...
Beppu, Japan laura1... because she kept gesturing wildly and shouting "Nudo, nudo!" at the top of her voice. We quickly retreated and fortunately came across a helpful pictorial description of what you're supposed to do. We went to our separate changing rooms disrobed and put on the short cotton gowns they'd given us. We then walked out into the sand pit to be greeted by two very bossy, middle-aged women, dressed in pyjamas and wellies and holding shovels. They ordered ...
