      ... was like having our own tour guides! They didn't speak much English and laughed when they tried to say anything but they were super sweet. One of them would run ahead of us to touch the button for us to cross the street and then ran ahead of us once we were at the farm to see where the pumpkin festival was on the property.
      Although we had walked through some showers coming from church and then from the bus stop to the farm, once we got on the property it started pouring! ...

      I flew home from Sendai alone on Tuesday and for the first time in 5.5 months I was in the apartment by myself for two nights. I admit that I did sleep with the light on. I came home because Chris would be busy at his conference and so I could go to class. Because I am currently tutoring in Otaru, I was able to continue with that as well.

      The best part about not being able to finish our marathon was that on Monday our bodies didn't have to recover from a marathon. Walking and biking weren't without some pain, but I still got my errands done. Today I learned how to use the Loppi machine at Lawson's convenience store so I could pay for plane tickets that we ordered over the weekend.
