Kizantei Hotel is located just about a 15 minute walk from Hita Station. Accessible by JR train from Fukuoka or Oita. From Hita Station to the hotel you will walk through Kuma Town, which is a charming area that takes you back in time with the old shops and tile rooftops. The opposite side of the station also leads you to Mameda Town which is also a back-in-time town with other tourist attractions such as the Gion Matsuri Museum where you can see ...
Hita, Ōita, Japan madamebutterfly... station, buses leave every 40minutes or so from 730 am to 630pm (get a time table from the Nakatsu station information desk). Take the bus to Kakisaka 柿坂 , it takes about 40minutes. I would suggest getting there before sundown since the cycling center is a short walk from the bus stop (probably about 10mintues) but the country roads could be confusing. Calling the cycling terminal and asking someone to pick you up might ...
Just viewing your CV for 10 seconds can be enough for a potential employer to decide whether or not to offer you an interview. Remember you only have one chance to make a first impression so you need to make it a good one! This is hard enough to do in your home country; imagine how hard it will be in a foreign country where you not only have to produce a great CV but you also need to do it in another language. You and your CV are a ...

I Rode a Bicycle up a Mountain
You may be asking yourself why did I mention Rocky, Well, I would never have made it up the terrible mountain side if I hadn't seen the movie the day before. I tried to go 4 kilometers by bicycle to some big tourist attractions in Beppu called “The Hells”. I didn't realise it would be all up hill the entire way (Beppu is ...
... of Aso, so we took off to scale the tallest of the peaks in the region, Naka-dake. After about 1.5 hours we reached what was essentially the top, no mean feat given the gusty winds and the loose rocks underfoot. However, we made it up and the view was utterly amazing--this is probably what keeps those crazy climbers excited about hiking up ridiculously challenging mountains. The views were great and you felt like you were on top of the world. In reality the climb wasn't too ...
Beppu, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan mchao... standards! It's weird that a whole town has developed in the bottom of the calder - once the volcano erupts again - they'll all be toast. When we get back down to the town Jim decides on sampling the public baths here - he's really got into this thing - after the sand baths at Ikubusi I decide to give it a miss! Mind you he's cleaner than he's been for the whole of this trip. The following day we take the bus up to the top of Nake Dake ...
Aso, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan sheerin09Sun Ming Ming is the tallest human being I have ever seen. The Chinese center is 236 cm (7 foot, 9 inches) tall. He is shy and soft-spoken and doesn't seem particularly interested in doing interviews with sports writers. But I've been happy to have my chance to chat with him twice in English this season. Still haven't written the "big ...
Beppu, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan odevened... onsen there wasn't anywhere to put it. I also forgot my shower gel and scrubbing mits; Offensive Item No 3. Entering onsen without scrubbing up properly first. Thankfully I was on my own, I wasn't rumbled for being a dirty westerner. This bath was lovely and hot. After a short while I was joined by a group of older Japanese ladies who, reassuringly, also seemed a bit clueless about what to do at a sand bath. I thought I would leave them to it and headed ...
