... world – dream life / no kids.
We took the gondola straight up to the top of the mountain and the kids were amazing. Straight down. The snow was good but a little icy. We did a few runs at the top of the mountain and then skied down to the bottom of the valley including a red run which the kids took in their stride.
There was a student skiing tournament so it was busy but ...
... and it was just great to be up in the clean cool air – so different from Bangkok. We went down to the bottom of the mountain for lunch and met the kids in the canteen, laughing with the instructor. Great to see them so confident.
We headed off for another couple of hours in the afternoon and then back to pick up the kids. Back to the hotel for a steak and some well earned beer and ...
... We got off at Hakuba and were met by Sam from Aqua Alpine. The hotel was a short ride and wow…it was really nice. An old company winter retreat, it had an amazing open plan bar, lounge and restaurant.
We quickly got our ski gear from the hire shop and settled at the bar and enjoyed a first night of happy hour jenga where as long as the tower remained up, it was 30% off! Kids loved it. The food was also great and our first Japanese steak!
