Having cut short on the fifa, we retreated for an early night before our early wake-up to go diving a few hours south west of Tokyo, on the Izu peninsula. After meeting our diving instructors at Shinjuku station, we drove down to our spot. The route, on a clear day, is stunning by the way. ... back here again. On the other side we didn't go up the cable car because I'm not great on heights so after a picnic sitting at the other end of the lake we got the boat back again. However I was really pleased with our decision that we'd seen enough of Tokyo in a single day and we should come out and try and see Mount Fuji. We'd been on a Shinkansen, a local bus for an hour past picturesque scenery and had a boat cruise on a lake and seen Mt Fuji apparently floating above ...

... frame the entire valley of Ito and below us a small creak meandered around on its way to the ocean, a mere two minute walk from our room. I think at that point we had already entered paradise, but then a band started playing live music from a stage out on the river and it just got better from there.

... were kind of surprised when the sake glasses came. It was kind of like a glass in a cup on a dish. The waitress came with a big botlle of sake and poured it in so that it overflowed both the glass and the cup and so we ended up with about three glasses of sake where we were expecting one. :-P Both the food and the sake were delicious. ... realy warm and tired i decided to stay in and have me some cold beers. I met Evelyn from Germany and she had the same plans as me on taking it easy. Since she bought a couple differrent beers she came up with the idea to have a beertasting. That was pretty cool, tasting and judging different kinds of Japanese beer.
