The bus ride First ITs the first south America bus I've taken where they ask for ID to get on the bus and your passport info, Then while you are on the bus waiting to leave they video tape everyone on the buses faces how they look etc... Why? well in case someone trys to rob the bus in the middle of the night somewhere in the middle of the Andes...

We just arrived into Lima... very different than Chile or Argentina! This is going to be interesting.  We´ve signed up with GAP Tours to do Peru because the logisitics stuff was getting tiring... but maybe we´re seeing the bright side of our own logistics planning... I think we`ve just realized we are comfort class travelers, not "adventure...

Moved to central Lima today to meet up with the group we will be travelling with. Central Lima is much bigger and busier than Miraflores. There are many street vendors selling a wide array of the weird and wonderful - hot boiled quails eggs for example! We had some freshly squeezed orange juice though, which was lovely, and cost about 20p. Lunch...

The bus journey was completely horrendous! Quite a few people had questioned our motives as to why we were getting a 28 hour bus and not a 2 hour flight which is, after all, cheaper.
