... the little waterways, into the Grand Canal and towards the Rialto Bridge. Our Gondolier is quite informative, and the more interest we show the more talkative he becomes. One of the most delightful parts of the ride was, when approaching blind corners he would call (and we could hear approaching Gondoliers call) Aaaaeeeeeeeoooooooo - but much more lyrically and with an Italian accent!!! ... in a terrible state and require major dollars to repair and the smell from the canals was unpleasant. When the moon is full and the tide falls then the smell is terrible. But St. Marks square was absolutely lovely and the museum and church which surround the square are splendid. ... It was crowded; and the locals were a bustle - it was Saturday and they were doing their errands on foot.

The most fun, was spending time on Morano. An island famous for glass blowing... We watched the professionals, we toured the museums, but most importantly we found a few perfect gifts for those back home!

Another important feature about our day not to be overlooked is the food!
