Up early again today for a bus ride to Qi Bao, an ancient town and market. As we wandered through the market stalls, we were greeted in Chinese by street vendors and small shop owners hawking their wares. Smells of nearly every food imaginable could be smelled as one wove their way through the narrow paths between shops. Some were adventuresome and tried "stinky tofu". Monday morning I met with Ashley, Caitlyn and Heather to go to Louise's house. She was taking us to a place to get our nails done for Sanya. ... estimated population is 21million, as people stream in from rural regions every day in the thousands to try and earn a higher income than they can in the provinces. And Shanghai, looks, feels, sounds, exactly as you would expect such a vast conurbation to look feel and sound. At night, the traffic whirls around the chaos of brilliantly lighted streets and flashing ads in lurid colours on the forests of towers.
