I See the Sea

We met up with Kate in Busan. She'd only been in Korea for a little over a month when we had this first vacation, so she spent it with us. We couldn't leave Korea because ChungDahm, my school, was afraid that we might catch Swine Flu if we left the country. Huge bummer too, I wanted to spend that vacation on Thailand. :-( Once we got to Busan we checked in at our hostel, Zen Backpackers. It was a great place, near downtown and not too far from the main beaches and the fishmarkets. For dinner ...

Day 27- Scootering Across Korea

... corporate world hadn’t taken over yet. It seemed all throughout my trip that Korea is growing very rapidly. I must of seen over 50 bridges being built all over. Not little tiny bridges but big ass highway bridges.

The most difficult part of the trip was in the beginning and the end. In Seoul I went the wrong way and ended up exploring for 7 hours to get back on interstate 3 which was the main road I traveled on. In Pusan it ...

A German in Busan

... were off. A short while later our eight some paid the 15,000 won cover and used our free drink voucher to get the party started. Interesting things to come would be John, Mel, Stephanie, Jamie, Jenny, Apryl, Courtney, and I being surrounded by the hottest Korean women out that night. Now I must admit I was a little jealous as the ladies of CIS seemed to be the center of attention. The Korean women were wild for them when as I approached them I got nothing ...

... with a Visa or MasterCard symbol will give easy access to money or your average purchases. Postal Services: Two words: cheap and efficient. Books: Finding books in English isn't easy unless you're looking for educational purposes. There is a good bookstore in Seoul called, "What the Book," that also has services online. If you plan an extended stay, this is a cheap option for keeping up on your reading. Korea is a country full of beauty and surprises ...

Barbecue alla coreana

Spring In South Korea

... pour just before I slept. The temperature was around 10-15 degrees Celsius, enough to make me sneeze and shiver though! Day 7 Home Sweet Home I used a SILVER cab for Incheon Airport in the morning. After a brisk Korean noodle at the airport, I check-in for the 1150 flight back home. The Incheon International Airport is another interesting duty free shopping heaven. I bought a bottle of Korean Ginseng Wine for Irene. Also a book by John Grisham in ...

Busan (Pusan)

... but said we could buy a ticket for "standing room only" on the slower train. The faster train only takes about 3 hours to go from Seoul to Busan but the slower one takes twice as long. Our other options were pretty much non existent so we got the standing room tickets which wasn't such a bad deal as we only had to pay 20,000 won ($20) and the fast train would have cost us more than three times as much. We got on the train and after moving ...

DK Koreai kiruccanásunk

... volna baja. S akkor most jön a legnagyobb poén!

Back to Busan

... was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by fields. We shook our hands signaling, "forget it", and were able to listen to a few more songs. Looking for the Astronomical Conservatory, we were stuck walking around the Royal Tombs. The tombs are just massive mounds. They resemble little land fills where some grass has begun to grow. By the time we reached the other side of the tombs, we were too tired to go any further. We stumbled back to the ...
