... and so they came straight out and switched of the gas. After they moved the vehicles blocking the entrance we were able to drive into the camp and set up for the night.

10th – A fairly lazy day, Mike had to do a bit of filling to the side of Kirsty , as well as pay £20 to fix the gas meter, otherwise we just enjoyed the weather.

11th – Went for a walk around the town this afternoon, the town is the main Welsh town in Argentina and lots of ...

Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, Argentina seankervin... back - just when you thought I had gone off on a tangent too far, with more brackets than you can shake a stick at. Damn. Could get in some sort of never ending loop here... And we're back. Dont panic, I solved the problem. With physics. Maybe. Dinosaurs ...
Trelew, Argentina cezzahSaturday is a rest day, and so we did. To avoid tiredness in our long trip, we try to rest every so often (basically early night and sleeping in). We try to stick to this as in normal "non-travelling" life to keep something constant... So it wasnt until lunch time that we starting walking around, with a visit to the Trelew Museum, full of Welsh colonialist information. In short, the Welsh arrived in Puerto Madryn in 1865 invited by the Argentinian government in order to ...
Trelew, Argentina casenanneliekeThis is one of the few remaining places where Welsh is still spoken in Patagonia. The town can best be described as sleepy and is comprised of a maximum of five blocks of small neat houses, some of them dating from the time of the first settlers in 1865. I managed to track down the house of lady who a school friend of mine from Wales had stayed with in the past. Unfortunately, she wasn't at home alhtough her friendly old neighbour was and ...
Gaiman, Argentina nerys80... while the other goes out looking for food), they would turn their head in a strange way...almost looking at you upside-down. I tried to stay a good distance away, but you had to watch where you were stepping sometimes to avoid stepping on one that chose to lie out in the middle of the path or right upon the edge. Besides the burrows, the penguins will also make their nests under the large bushes that are common in this area. As the babies grow and begin to venture out a bit more ...
Trelew, Argentina epijuarez... experience there which included so much food. We'd already eaten our packed lunch and we only wanted a cuppa but they wouldn't let us so we ended up just looking around the towns. We didn't think they were that impressive and didn't really have much in either of the towns but it was nice to see them anyway. We were happy to get back to our lovely Puerto Madryn.
Gaiman, Argentina alexandlucy... know why they didn´t go around - I guess the Welsh settlers were missing the tunnels from back home. Gaiman is a popular tourist destination for Welsh Teas - there must be 5 or 6 tea houses here. We went to Ty Nain, just off the plaza. We had the best cup of tea since we´ve been in Argentina - A nice pot with a tea cosy, and a plate full of cakes. A really nice place full of antiques and everything Welsh. Went out for a burger later on. Lizz enjoyed it, as she had a good laugh ...
Gaiman, Argentina jonlizz... the Welsh here. The people are tall with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. We have heard that the Welsh teas served in the nearby town of Gaiman are legendary. I instantly like the town becaues the people are very friendly. Although many tourists pass through on day tours from Puerto Madryn, there are relatively few hotels and so there is still a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Red brick buildings bear the Welsh flag and we pop into the Hotel Touring Club ...
