    Is what it is...

It is what it is, free food comes with a drinks purchase. The dorm rooms were slightly prison like and the bathrooms were a little rustic, saying that has everything you need. Some staff are helpful, as with all Australia no wifi is free but it is expected. The people were good and if you wanted to spend the day lazing on the sun deck it was sweet. They also just recently moved there weekly rent down to $175 so would stay here again for that price.

The people were lovely but the place is a party hostel. The whole place stank & the rooms were tiny! Got a bar there though!

Cheap Booze but Not Very Clean

First time I have ever stayed in a hostel. Wonderful staff, lots to do, nice pool (which we jumped in about 10 o'clock at night!) cheap drinks, thursday - jug of beer + burger for $10, but it could have done with a good clean. It was a shame because it could have been wonderful. But a good experience! :)

There comes a point at any travel where the money will run out and your luck for gaining employment straight away goes Kaput too. It also gets to a point where telling the same story and making small talk becomes a little too much. Darwin was that section of the journey for me. After a fun few months galavanting around in Thailand and going home …

13:05 Woke up a lot earlier today and chatted with friends via Facebook for a while which was really nice (and made me laugh so much -good job I was the only one in my room!) before having breakfast and printing off my boarding passes for tomorrow. Met up with Jess and walked to the Botanic Gardens and Mindil Beach which were both very pretty …

Woke up around 10:00, had breakfast and went to walk the Darwin Heritage Trail and find the waterfront. It was alright but I couldn't find several parts of the trail so gave up and did some souvenir shopping and found the airport shuttle bus station before heading back to the hostel for lunch. Met up with Jess, Nina and a few of the others and went …

14:05 Had a lie-in this morning although I still had to get up slightly earlier than everyone else to clear away my things before breakfast. Only had a couple of new bites so that was good although I have got a tickly, gungy cough which isn't so good. Drove to Ubirr and spent the whole morning looking at the rock art there and leaning the stories …

    Katherine Gorge

Drove to Katherine Gorge and went canoeing which was awesome. Very similar to the ardeche river in France. We paddled as far as we could before getting out and walking round the rocks for a bit. Could have got in another set of canoes a bit further round and continued on but we only had a couple of hours so didn't want to go too far. Was a lot …
