The people were lovely but the place is a party hostel. The whole place stank & the rooms were tiny! Got a bar there though!

Cheap Booze but Not Very Clean

First time I have ever stayed in a hostel. Wonderful staff, lots to do, nice pool (which we jumped in about 10 o'clock at night!) cheap drinks, thursday - jug of beer + burger for $10, but it could have done with a good clean. It was a shame because it could have been wonderful. But a good experience! :)

I only had a brief stay in Darwin, mainly to catch my flight to Bali from, whist there other than experiencing near 100% humidity, the local nightlight was sampled. In the morning before my flight I managed to walk along the coast and see some of the remnants of Darwin being used as a base during WWII. With the benefit of more time it would have been great to visit the nearby Kakadu national park...next ...
