... down on the lagoon.

We caught the 11.30 am bus to Oia in the north of the island and looked around the stunning alleys at views of white houses, blue domed churches, sparkling swimming pools and cliffs dropping down to the shimmering ocean below.

There is a cliff top walk that climbs up on to ridges, then skirts around and over hills and into saddles and up to more ridges and onto more cliff tops for about 12 Kms from Oia to Fira where ...

... incredible island every year. Yes, Santorini is truly one of the most romantic and spectacular islands in the world. If you happen to catch the "Santorini bug" you will be back to check out all those little streets and white washed corners, doorways and arches that you might have missed the first time. Even if you didn't miss them, it is more than worth a second visit.

Yes, the spectacular and beautiful Santorini is definitely worth a trip….or two!

Next went jump on our pirate ship like vessel and cruise around to ...

We were staying in Perissa, perfect swimming beach and not too many people. The beach was a 2 minute walk from our hotel. We also put our towels down on the sand as that was free or you could pay for a lounger. We didn't have the money for that or the need and didn't mind lying on the sand. Done ...

First of all we left the town and drove into the heart of the island, where we went to a small village. Here we went to see an olive press museum, then walked down and saw a traditional ceramic maker. We saw how he made his pots and jars. We then got back on the bus and left that village and went to another village. Here we went to a distillery museum, where we got to do some tastings of the product, hear about the history and see some of ...
