Josef-Preis-Allee 18 Salzburg, Salzburg, Austrian Alps, Austria, A-5020
Flew in to Salzburg with Am and Oli and checked into our hostel - much to Am's dismay but hey that's what happens when you take 2 years off work to go travelling you have no money for flash accomodation anymore. Anyhow the hsoetl was great it was actualy very central and very quiet. Salzburg surprised us by being much colder than we expected so after a quick trip to good old H n M we were equipped with scarves and gloves and good to go. It was a lovely city albeit it rainy and cold when we we...
Salzburg, Austrian Alps, Austria churchill2020I wish I could say the same as my traveling companions, but i seriously could care less if we were walking all over this 'picturesque' movie set(The sound of Music). The hostel replayed this movie every night at 8PM, seriously, i was so tired and sleepy, I didn't get to watch or finish this dang movie.... But, SALZBURG was amazing as a town though. very little, a lot of history. Loved going to the Mozart house and visiting all the places he grew up in.
Salzburg, Austrian Alps, Austria fabsters19Here we are in sassy Salzburg!! Birthplace of Mozart and the Sound of Music!! The hills are alive with the sound of Mozart!! They really get a kick out of Mozart here. He adorns every shop front and every piece of merchandise in the city. There's Mozart the matchbooks, Mozart the playing cards, Mozart the Liquor, Mozart the chocolate and even Mozart the Cologne. I mean lets be honest, they really have no business making a cologne that smells of stinky, sweaty powdered wig!! I doubt the man wa...
Salzburg, Austrian Alps, Austria rachandshanSorry for the delayed update. I kept waiting for an amusing vignette to happen to me when I realized that I had gone several weeks with out writing. This 3 week hiatus waiting for excitement emphasizes the fact that I'm having a relatively regular semester in an irregular place. We still sleep in on the weekends, we get bored, and we go to bed early on the weekdays... I did go to Salzburg last weekend which was amazing, but words cannot express the splendor of this city. Of course I hummed "T...

... on the first night - I woke up to a half naked dangling drunkard trying to find something to put his feet on... turns out I was the closest. He apparently decided that he didn't need to use a ladder and instead opted to lower himself over the side. Then when he came back it took him a few tries to get back up.
On our second night we found a beer garden that was like Oktoberfest.. except open all year round! The ...
hey all,
I forgot about Salzburg... we went there before Prague... I guess I have put it out of my mind because KB sang the musical the whole time we were there! lol, it was great though...
We got to Salzburg at night and tried to follow the directions to the hotel, but we didn't know if we had to go right or left out of the train station, so KB asked some, what I thought were ...
... we had already thought to be little punks waiting to pick pocket someone...they spoke english. So we went over to them and it was super cute, he was so excited to help us. He told his friends to back up and be quiet so he could help us...and then he whipped out his i phone and google mapped our address so we knew exactly where to go! Very nice! So we started walking...but the kid had told us take the second right, and the internet ...
Salzburg, Austria kkb-myadventure... a romantic, picturesque city, and practically everything closes early. I swear, the place seemed to completely shut down at about 5 PM. So we called it an early night, in order to be ready for some sightseeing the next day!
The next morning, we got up for my first real breakfast and milk since we’d left Paris (I’m surprised I wasn’t suffering withdrawal symptoms or something, though I did ...
... our heads gave us a clue that we need not be in fear of our lives (despite the fact that another 20 or so explosions had followed the first!) When we finally tracked down the source of all the noise it was to find local lads (many aged) in traditional dress firing some sort of ? antique basooka. A festival of some sort was on!
The castle had the usual array of cute stone buildings, an unusual sundial on a wall, a ...
... 8220;Nurburgring” is located. Stephen is really into cars and stuff, so it was cool for him to get to see this place. The real highlight was that you can pay 20 euro to take your car (or the rental) on the track! So we paid and Stephen drove my dad and I around the track (going pretty fast at times) my mom didn’t want to participate so she sat out to take pictures hehe. Afterwards we parked near the track and watched people slide ...
