After a night out in sydney (my last in Australia) with Matt and Pascal, an attempted, extremely uncomfortable nights sleep in sydney airport and a short 3 hr flight, I finally arrived in Christchurch, New Zealand. Well, here I am in Christchurch! I changed planes in Auckland very early this morning, and arrived here at about 8:30am. Didn't get into any trouble with customs, although it took quite a while. Took a public bus into the city center and dropped my bags off at the hostel. It all went smoothly, and so far all the officials and shopkeepers and tourism people have been every bit as nice as everyone said. The money is pretty, by the way! Ours is so boring...

Hey everyone I've just got back from Fiji!!! Before I tell you all about that in my next update, just to fill you in on what I got up to in Christchurch before I left for my trip to paradise... Arrived in New Zealand after about 36 hours non-stop travelling. I smell, I've been smelling since Hong Kong and trying not to raise my arms has given me something of a bad back. Saturday was a bit of a right off, I only managed to fight sleep off until 8pm on the Friday and then, thanks to a lad snoring like a chainsaw, I was awake again at about 4:30am. I forgot to add one thing about yesterday in Fox Glacier. After I went out looking at the stars I borrowed a flashlight from the front desk and went to look for glowworms. There's a 1-km walking trail just outside of the township (very close to the hostel; it's a really small town) where I read and was told that there were glowworms.
