Day 2 in Queenstown

A travel blog entry by simandnav

Not the most eventful day as we had another visit from the rain clouds in the afternoon. Although it wasn't raining in the morning we didn't get to go hang gliding as it was too windy. We still got up early, had breakfast and went for a walk round town. We went in to the AJ Hackett store to discuss bungy jumping (Sim was a no no but I wanted to …

It's my birthday!

June 10th

It's now been a few years since, at around 1230pm on Sunday the 10th of June, Latha and Krishnakumar in Bangalore gave birth to a baby boy who would go on to become an unusually tall and slightly annoying person.

I am now him and, immediately after getting up that morning, decide that I really haven't done many great …

June 8th

Even though the previous night was a long one I'm up relatively early and walk the lake side trail by the glistening waters of Lake Wakatipu by the bank of which Queenstown was built. It's a beautiful day and I don't seem to be hanging too much considering I thought I never stopped drinking the previous night.

I get to …

We were up and on the way to Milford Sound today which is basically the 8th wonder of the world its so impressive. Stopped at 'Mirror Lakes' en route which were pretty stunning themselves with spectacular views and refections of the mountains in the lakes. It was the most beautiful perfect day aswell with clear blue skies and sunshine.

Gaz's Tour!!!

Trying to beat yesterdays adrenaline thrill, we went 4x4'ing up Skippers Canyon today, on an unofficial 'Gazs’ tour – Gaz and Emma, who we’d recently met were taking us out in their truck, so basically we were heading onto one of world’s most dangerous roads in a 4x4 on a do-it –yourself tour! Sweet!!!

Ensuite bathrooms to a 6 Bed Dorm? Yes Please!

As the title would suggest, I was very happy with the room arrangements here. The kitchen was well equipped, the only downside was it would close around 10 every night. The staff were very friendly tho, the washing machines were good and I was generally very happy for the 6 nights I stayed here.

This YHA is centrally located and is nice, the rooms are a little small but still decent. The kitchen is of decent size and the staff was nice. It is really convenient to get too. I recommend it!
