Ireland back to England

Alarm clock woke us all very early – bit of a rude shock really. Reluctantly up and out of our comfy & warm beds, we packed ready to head for an early ferry back across the Irish Sea heading toward England again.

Firstly though, our host Philomena fed us all up on our last full Irish breakfast. Still getting our heads and …

After seeing the incredibly rubbish Stonehenge we continued onto Bath. The journey took about an hour or so. Once again the girls fell asleep so they missed us entering Bath which was pretty breathtaking.

Meantime Aaron was looking for a hostel on his phone. He found a YHA hostel with a swimming pool just out of the city centre so we drove …

With a big sigh of relief, I adjust well to driving on the left side of the road, having only driven in Australia since leaving home. I make the drive from London to the west in relatively good time, only to encounter more traffic, this time caused by a festival. I use my intuition and make a local's shortcut by using my inherited sense of …

The day started unexpectedly sunny and beautiful after such wet night. Full of the excitement of being here we headed off in our hire car. However, while ooing and ahhing over the simple lines of the Georgian and Regency streets we became lost and took an extra hour or so to make it to our intended destination: Royal Crescent - the glittering jewel …

...and so to Bath.

We collected a hire car at Heathrow with the intention of driving straight to Bath, but we were immediately distracted by signs for Hampton Court, so went there …

Not a bad hostel

It was a long walk back from the city centre, There is a bus stop right outside the hostel but don't get buses going past early in the morning. Also it says on hostel world that they have a swimming pool but they don't so they need to change that. Staff was excellent and help us plan our visit. Hostel was clean and tidy. All in all a nice hostel
