Hi there! If I remember rightly I lst did an entry for the South Island so I will now fill you in on the North! This is like a whole other place really! When I booked everything on the Internet I decided that i didn't want to spend all my time in just one hostel. This way i would be able to meet more people and have a better time in Auckland. My first thoughts of the city, like many others is that its rather boring and that there isn't much to do here, which is very true! Hello there. It is my last day in New Zealand and I will be catching a bus to the airport at 1:00, but I have a little bit of time so I'm going to update my travel blog. So after nearly 36 hours on a plane and 8 movies later.....we finally arrived at Auckland, New Zealand. The Hostel had all you could ask for, a bed and a kitchen. After about a 14 hour sleep we spent the next few days touring the city including stops at the zoo, the sky tower and the harbour. Landed into Auckland midday when everyone are wide awake including customs! I was drowsey, tired and hungry! Going through passport control presented a stiffer test than anywhere I have been before. I have a stern looking person who looked like the bady guy in Terminator 2. Well, New Zealand certainly is a long way from the UK. I won't go into boring details but 36 hours of travelling is one hell of an ordeal & should not be undertaken too often. Which is more of a reason to spend a long time here before completing the return journey. Hello New Zealand! I arrived in Auckland yesterday a bit tired out from my third flight within 3 days. Luckily the bus to the city was easy to find and stopped right outside my hostel, so that made it quite easy. Very nice. Today in Auckland was nice and sunny. I've heard that was unusual, so I got lucky. I really only did one thing in the city besides trying to figure out how and if my Australian phone would work here. It does. OK work this one out we left Santiago on the 15th September on a 13 hr 20 minutes flight to Auckland New Zealand and arrived on the 17th September. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 16TH SEPTEMBER.....we just missed out on a whole day. It was dark from the minute we left Santiago to the minute we arrived in Auckland, strangest flight EVER!!

We had a great few days in Auckland, there is so much to do but it is so so expensive from the minute you get off the plane there is so much tourist information...

3rd January 2008 Well after an early rise this morning and a mystery tour round Sydney to pick passengers up for the airport and then an hour and a half wait for check in, I finally made it through to the departure lounge with only 40 minutes to spare before boarding. A 3 and a half hour flight later and I arrived in Auckland, NZ. Got the shuttle bus to the city - NZ$26! Just managed to check in to the hostel and then go out and grab something to eat and then back to the hostel for the night....
