Air Asia has arrived early into the very busy Chek Lap Kok airport.. Hong Kong's international airport built in 1998 on reclaimed land.. It is now the 12th busiest airport in the world..in 2012 a staggering 56 million plus passengers passed through.. It also employs over 60,000 locals.. Hence a complete city was also built close by to accommodate …

So after the longest flight we have ever been on we finally arrived at our first stop...Hong Kong! We managed to get on the bus and find the hostel pretty easily...so far so good! We checked into YessInn @ Causeway Bay safe and sound. We spent our first night getting totally lost after deciding to walk to the wan chai pier?? (We had no idea) to get …

Met the group again first thing this morning for a 'light hike' up to Victoria peak. Light hike.....no! It was a one hour hike up the side of a mountain! (Apparently it was the easiest hike of the trip!) was so worth it though, it looked out over the whole of Hong Kong! After having lunch we travelled through Hong Kong to the border to China to …

Day 2

The Yesinn is a really cool place to stay in Hong Kong as it has a rooftop terrace where travellers come together to exchange travel and life stories it is an interesting mix between Chinese students, foreign travellers on a big trip who quit their job like me and also people working in China as English teachers and are here to hang out. Today I …

Hello folks so this will be my first entry from sweaty and bustling Hong Kong. I am sitting at the rooftop hearing the noisy traffic in the background... The flight went really well had a nice conversation with a lady working for Van Gils the suitcompany on a business trip to Hangzhou and there was a drunk and obnoxious Indo grandmother on her way …

    Simple and Cheap

Yesinn Hostel is convenient and cheap. There are 9 bunks to a room (stacked 3 to a bed). The rooms are clean and simple with nice primary color décor. I stayed for a single night on a Hong Kong visa run from Shanghai and it was perfect. There was a Halloween party on the roof and everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun.

Clean, 21 bed dorm is not bad at all, own private space, quiet for the most part, comfortable enough. Staff aren't overly friendly but all speak English and are happy to answer any questions. Nice atmosphere - I would definitely recommend staying here.

    So-so, but location is good

It's cheap for Hong Kong, clean and rooms have ensuite bathrooms that work well (the flushing power could be stronger). The location is good, on Hong Kong Island, maybe 20-30 minutes walk (or 3 stops of the MTR) from the big bar, club area of Wan Chai

Hostel is split up into different 'apartments' though so some areas don't have communal spaces, so not much for mixing and meeting people if that's what you're after. Overall, it was OK for what I needed--some rest and relaxation.
