A travel blog entry from Wellington by andrea_nzTues 13th May - We were up at 5am to catch the flight to Wellington to begin our tour of the North Island so today has been a pretty long day. We arrived at the hostel at around 9am so still had the whole day to explore! We took a ride on the cable car tram to the top of a really steep hill and then checked out the cable car museum. It seems tha...
A travel blog entry from Wellington by edandaliEntry 8 of a trip titled: To Middle-Earth and back again.
My first trip around the World. I was going to Christchurch in New Zealand to study for half a year and thought "Well, since I'm going to the opposite side of the World anyway, why not make it a trip all around the world?" And so I did. This is the story of me going to Middle-Earth and back. It was such a great experience! I would do it again if I had the time and the money. Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you :) --- I've finished making entries, though they still need text (sorry, but it will come!), and started uploading pictures. Going slowly, but it's going forward. I've finished uploading pictures, but text for the entries is still lacking. It'll come...sometime...
A travel blog entry from Wellington by elpinoineAfter our time in prison we headed for Wellington. We stopped over for one night in Palmerston North, and stayed in a great hostel, the Pepper Tree, it was one of the few that actually felt like you were in someone's home, and there were lots of shoes spray painted green with flowers planted in them, strange but cute. Sprinter (the car) is leavi...
A travel blog entry from Wellington by jenandniamhChecked out the gigantic and high quality Te Papa Tongarewa history museum. You could wander for days or weeks inside this one museum and never fully digest it all. That said, in the time I did spend in there I wander between art, cultural, natural and historical exhibits of my choosing and relished them all. The next day we walked around downto...
A travel blog entry from Wellington by jkirbyGot up early to hitch to Picton, I was gonna try and do another walk in the area as i'd previously done part of the Queen Charlotte track about 7 weeks ago. Got picked up almost immediately by Greta, a substitute teacher from Picton so managed to get all the way in one hitch. A complete result. Arrived in Picton by about 12ish and as it was sunn...
A travel blog entry from Wellington by mattoliverWe left Palmerston North on Saturday morning, because we had only hired our car for a week so it needed to be returned by 12.30pm on the Saturday. However, we are heading back to Palmy next weekend, and I'm sure we'll be meeting up again as Wellington is only 2hrs away from Palmerston North (not to be confused with Palmerston, which is in the So...
