The catastrophe and worldcup madness
So munich is coming off the tailend of the unanimous most liked city of the trip thusfar so the expectations are high. Coming in we had a bit of a hostel dilemma as we were misbooked for the wrong nights but thats what you get sometimes when a trip is spontaneous but the great thing about staying in backpackers hostels and budget hotels is that …
Leaving Our Mark on Munich
We arrived in Munich late Tuesday afternoon, and checked in to our hostel, Wombat's. It seemed to have a young social atmosphere with lots of other global travelers just like us!
The first group we met was a couple Australians, New Zealanders, and one Canadian. The group decided to go to Munich's most historical beer hall, the Hofbrauhaus. …
VEISHEA
Being as though it was VEISHEA back at Iowa State all week, and not wanting the fear of FOMO...Fear Of Missing Out, a bunch of my fellow Cyclones and I decided we weren't going to let that happen. On Tuesday all of us decided to make an appearance at some of the local bars and show them what VEISHEA was all about. Kelcie and I even decided to wear …

Stop Four: Munich, Bavaria, Germany
We left Prague Wednesday morning and took an express bus (yes, a bus...we didn't realize that until we reached the train station) to Nuernberg and then transferred (by train, this time) to Munich. The bus ride was actually very nice, except for when we crossed the border into Germany. The border patrol …

Great atmosphere and the location is great. Only downside was the price. Expensive when I walked in last minute.

I had a very good experience at Wombats. I found out about it from the internet. It had very good ratings. Everything was clean. I liked the locker system in the rooms. The €3 breakfast wasn't bad. The lounge area was fun and I made a few friends on the city tour. The only thing I didn't like, which wasn't Wombats fault, was the people not really respecting sleep time. Someone came in and turned on the lights in the middle of the night... So that was shitty... but other than that, not bad.

This place was literally close to everything and had good facilities. The free beer is more of a sip but its still free. The bathrooms could have been a little cleaner but overall, great place.

Right next to the train station which makes day trips a dream. Bit of a shame that there's no wifi in the rooms but there's a very cool chill out area on the ground floor. Nice helpful staff and there's bar too with happy hour, 5 euros for 1.5L of beer! Big rooms too.
