Tuo karvainen pirulainen jota Borneon villiksikin mieheksi on ku...

I have been attacked by a dominant male Macaque but fortunately had my camera with zoom lens attached so was able to protect my face - cant bear to think the damage I could have suffered with out it.
Now - with so many wonderful memories I prepare to return - will pick up this story as it unfolds once again in my beloved Sabah - watch this space
... group and as no lights are allowed you use torches to go across the beach - Jason has the torch - so it was more a case of me stumbling through the dark through the big holes dug by turtles on previous laying sessions to try and get to the group around the turtle. I made it just as she layed her last egg and Jason joined shortly after. The turtle was agreen turtle and probably was about 4 feet wide. She layed around 49 eggs in total. We then ...

Back to camp and lunch, followed by cards and relaxing in the hammocks. That afternoon we went for a boat ride for about a minute before turning back soaking wet. There was light rain when we left, but a couple minutes later it was absolutely bucketing down with plenty of thunder and lightning. With everybody thoroughly drenched, we turned back to camp as it was too dangerous.
We went back and played more cards until another ...
... of the main streets. The choice was excellent. There were no facilities to actually consume the food, people were only buying take away, the first clear evidence that Ramadan had come. I was the only one sitting on the stairs and eagerly enjoying my delicious fish, being watched by many curious eyes.
I had a very relaxing time in Sepilok area, which came in handy after the physical activity in Mt. Kinabalu.

Courtesy of our intrepid Swedish bug hunt**! Or Jungle Jand as Shelley called h**. The guide led us of into the jungle but that was probably the last time we all followed him. Jungle jane was on a mission! Within seconds she scanned around and hunted down a frog. The poor frog must have thought ‘ ...
Sepilok, Malaysia shelleyandsimmo... for a lot of you but when you have been wearing the same 2 bras and sports bras for the last 2 months....new bras are extremely exciting. Once again no underwear because they only make underwear for Barbie Dolls over here...and it rained. 05/10/09 More relaxing today. Watched movies and blogged, packed and decided to go to Semporna. And it rained.
Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia savageharmony... I was going to take a little walk in the forest there, but it looked like it was going to rain. You are supposed to tell the rangers if you are going for a walk just so they know. I was headed to tell them and guess what!? It started to pour. I decided to opt out of the walk and catch a city bus back to Sandakan. In Sandakan I was able to catch a car to Lahad Datu. From Lahad Datu I was able to get a mini van to Semporna.
Sepilok, Malaysia bizarreirishsta... So we set off and straight away we saw a Brahminy Kite sleeping on a tree branch, but he awoke and flew off before long. It was so dark I don't know how the guides spotted everything - but we saw lots of beautiful wildlife. They illuminated everything for us with a torch. The highlights were the Buffy Fish Owl - which we got really close to, and didn't seem too scared - but kind of arched its wings back in a protecting - its area kind of ...
