Australia

Australia easily could a many month long backpacking trip all by itself, I just hit a couple of the highlights on this trip. I started with a week in Sydney, which is the most beautiful city I have been to thus far in my life. Highlights include (yeah I'm trying to keep my blog updates a bit shorter now): Sydney Tower sunset, Botanical Gardens, The Domain, taking Israeli style photos (ask me in person ;-), the Route 69 pub craw with a bus load of backpackers from around the world, Blue Mounta...

Quick Sydney stop

We arrived in Sydney in the chilly evening time so we just had to check in and find food before bedtime. Not many food places were open as it was a weekday and quite late on so we ended up with takeaway pizza. The hostel was nice enough, we got our own room and it had a private bathroom... luxury!! It was nice and warm the next day. We did our own little walking tour around the must-see sights. We walked down to Darling Harbour, around the waterfront past the Aquarium and Wildlife place to th...

A wicked trip to Sydney! We flew in on Monday Morning, spend two full days of walking around seeing some of Sydney's most famous sights; The Opera house, The Storie Bridge, The Skytower and the Botanical Gardens! Sydney's nightlife on Monday and Tuesday is just Great! I wonder what it would be like on the weekends! St Paddie's day on Tuesday, unfortunately the Irish pubs were to packed and therefore impossible to get in! But we could not care less as we already had our Guiness Gold in the aft...

Sydney Central

If New York is the city that never sleeps then Sydney must come a close second; this city has it all, beaches, museums, parks, coastal walks, beautiful weather, the best bars and restaurants not to mention the myriad of world class sights on offer. One of the highlights had to be the visit to the Opera house and the flamenco show by Sara Baras that we attended. This building is without doubt a marvel of modern architecture and justifiably is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Surrounded ...

Sydney adventures

... but its really not, great place to stay if your our age, not so great if u value sleep. We easilky crashed after our longgg day though.

So today we went back to the harbour, to climb the bridge. We didnt do it the proper way as that was 200 dollars (1dollar = 50p), we found the cheaper option for 10 dollars of climbing one of the towers of the bridge, which was about 30m lower than the bridge arch, but still 100m tall, with fantastic views of the opera house and sydney for miles ...

Finding my feet in Bangkok - Expat Community

... I was saddened but excited. Moving to Bangkok after London was a huge change. At first I could not sleep at night for the first week. Everything was buzzing with excitement and it seemed like everything started after 10 pm. I shopped like crazy, I went to all the restaurants, I met people and saw everything I could see. After the first week I began to realize that I would need to meet people, seriously as in... make friends.... There were some nights at the beginning that I was ...

Vancouver wins hands down. It might have something to do with Vancouver hosting the 2010 Winter Olympic Games for which they seem extraordinarily prepared. Free very fast wireless Internet, plenty of airport staff to help if needed and a ...

Sydney

Flew into Sydney from Tasmania on Monday the 25th and when coming into land on the plane through thick cloud, it broke up just enough for me to catch a first glimpse of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Spent the first couple of days having a wander around Manly where I stayed and the city itself taking in the sights. Manly is a lovely little town on the north shores of the harbour which you have to take a ferry to get to. The weather was a bit rough ...

Heading to the Reef

Today I am going to attempt to try and get to the Great Barrier Reef. The city I'm attempting to get to is Cairns. My computer is giving me troubles, so who knows what will happen as far as communication goes. I'll touch base when I can. Keep praying, keep believing, God is good.
