Not Just Another Harbour

A travel blog entry by davidavi

Stepping out of the mainland and into one of the world's most recognizable harbours, I land in Hong Kong. Part of China, yet not, Hong Kong is something completely different than anywhere I have been that calls itself Chinese. British heritage is a nonstop sight throughout the city - taxis, roads, and driving to name a few. With such good shopping …

Hello again Asia

A travel blog entry by fin5prtw

Back in Asia once again, I feel somewhat at home, having spent so much time in Asia over the past 11 months.
I booked myself into a hostel and gave myself a needed nap after 14 hours on a plane.. It's hard work sitting down watching movies, while being fed and watered to your hearts content all day you know. My hostel wasn't bad actually, I …

Days in Hong Know

A travel blog entry by capeprimrose

Well Hong Kong is almost in the rear view mirror. It is a wonderfully vibrant fast paced city and for an Asian city, it is so sweet smelling. In places it smells of ginger, jasmine, joss sticks, perfumed people, cleaning fluid, ocean, coffee and bakeries. The smell waifs in through the public bus windows and it creep out of the public markets. No …

The Adventure Begins ...

Monday 20th - Tuesday 21st September 2010 Days 1 & 2:
Alistair here, I've never had a phobia of flying but I'ver looked forward to it either. Economy seats aren't geared up for 6ft2 plus people so its always an uncomfortable ride. The airline seems to torture you by making you walk through the business class seat before your own, making …

Needed a place for a night

We were visiting HK to surf Big Wave bay and was looking for a place to stay at Hong Kong island because there is no hotels near the beach.
Its was Chinese National Holiday that time so we payed 400+ HK dollars.
Rooms are small (its a hostel so dont expect space to run and do some push ups in the morning) the location is very good. I love the reception area where you can hang out and use wifi and order some drinks. I would recommend it if your on a budget, price might be a bit high for backpackers, but still reasonable enough. Dont like their toilets. Friendly owner and is willing to help out if you need anything. We stayed on a 2 single bed room. Thanks

It is a wonderful little hostel and it is right in the midst of the shopping Mecca of Hong Kong. It is snugged away between Burberry and Sogo. Patterson street has a Welcome Mart right across the street and there is a Starbucks above the Metro.

    Very convenient.
