A break from HCM City
We needed a break from the hectic Ho Chi Min City so we booked a few days away at the beach in Mui Ne.
It was beautiful and gorgeous weather. We ate lots of really nice spring rolls and had a great night at a BBQ restaurant where we got a big bottle of rum and a couple of cokes for somewhere around £2.00.
We spent some time …
Sand and Sea food
I arrived in Mui Ne with a big group of people and we managed to check into a hostel on the ocean with a swimming pool. Our other friends met us there, so it was a great group of people in an otherwise really quiet place. The ocean was not so great, but the hostel had a bunch of lounge chairs to hangout on. I managed to get a bit of a burn, which …

Drama On The Road To Mui Ne
We looked into bus options the day before we were set to leave Vung Tau for Mui Ne. We wanted to go with Phuong Trang, a bus company recommended by locals in the tourist industry that we were familiar with from previous experience, but sadly learned that they don't go that route. There was only one option. We purchased our tickets from the bus …
Mui Ne - afslapning x 1000

Only complaint is a strange noise we couldn't place in the bedroom, also would have been better to have breakfast on site as we had to go to the expensive cafe next door or down the road.
Other than that we had a great stay, never an issue blagging a sunlounger and although the sea was rough it was fun to get involved.
We'd definitely recommend.
Top tip: Check out the seafood BBQ restaurant next door, we shared a bottle of rum for less than £2.00

This was a good clean hostel with a pool and nice view of the water. It was good to lay out in the back lounge chairs

Nice clean hostel in a central location - although don't be deceived by the map in the Lonely Planet, Mui Ne is much larger than it seems. Accommodation in Mui Ne is also extremely expensive. The room overlooked the small pool, it really is small. Nice beachfront location with a few sun loungers. We took the trip to the sand dunes, which was reasonably priced. The guy who works behind reception tends to get a bit ratty at times but if you overheard some of the things being requested, you shouldn't be surprised.

We stayed at the dormrooms. It is a six person dorm, and the room is quite small and the matrasses are too old to use. The bathroom is quite dirty, with fungi on the wall.
The owners are not that friendly. When we arrived we were first told that we could not sleep in the same dorm. But we booked the two beds in one reservation. Most annoying are the signs with rules, and there are rules for everything.
The resort is next to the ocean (like every other hotel in this town), but without a beach, with chairs to use, and the price is OK.

Great place to stay, a little pricey compared to anywhere else in Nam, but reasonable for expensive Mui Ne. Owner named John (I think) is Aussie and surprisingly speaks Welsh! Very accomodating and helpful when I had a motorbike crash while staying there. Couldn't ask for better service - ardderchog!
Facilities were also excellent and clean and good basic breakfast included

Pristine dorms. $6 USD. Safe environment. The beach is just at the back.
