... day we found shelter at a market where we tried copious amounts of different fruit. Before we finished with one lot we had another one shoved in our face. We were happy to try them all but couldn't remember half if what we tried to be able to buy them. We bought a few for dessert that night.before continuing on our tour and heading home.

... a 5 year old. We eventually pulled ourselves away from the show and headed home - the rain didn't stop for hours though so the walk home was pretty fun! With no umbrellas and nothing to cover ourselves with, we got completely drenched through to our undies. ... it's own postcode, we can't say we'd have wanted to live there. Graffiti covered many of the more beautiful buildings - and it was literally all over them, even on the highest floors. The taggers/squatters had obviously discovered a way of leaning out of the windows and spraying everything with slogans, making the buildings look very unloved. We were extremely glad we hadn't come to the old town on our own, with literally tens of homeless people in almost every square we visited, ...

... the exact same shoes. Next embarrassing moment was when I tried on the women's and they were just a touch too small, so the guy told me that they don't make women's shoes in my size. I had to go with Men's. So I did. I left the other shoes there which seemed to confuse them even more.

After that, I abandoned Sao Paulo and went to the bus station. Then it was night bus number two to Campo Grande and the Pantanal! ...

Otherwise you end up with protests and uprisings. You create a middle class, which is good, but which is not content with the current social situation of the country and demands changes for a better life. Same thing that happened in Turkey. This middle class has critical thinking and demands more.
