Back in LA this time Venice Beach. This place is definitely more of my scene. Incredibly laid back, perfect weather, nice beaches and the most beautiful sunsets, ever. First day was a right off, recovering from our Las Vegas stint. Next day, Halloween! We don't celebrate it here but we know what it's all about. Dress up as scary things and get …
Planes, trains and automobiles!
We were down at Seattle train station the next morning at 8.30, ready for our train to LA. We umm'd and ah'd the day before about whether to get up really early and catch the england world cup game before embarking on our journey. Anyway, we decided not to as we were both pretty tired and it meant lugging all our things to a pub at 6 in the morning …

Venice beach
We are now currently in Hollywood after a few good days at Venice beach! We tried skateboarding and biking, seeing as that seems to be the only way of getting around there. Reg was pretty good at skateboarding, but I'm sure most of you can imagine how Faye got on..
We witnessed a police search on the beach, complete with helicopters and …

TravelPod Member ReviewsVenice Beach Cotel Los Angeles
The hostel is up quite a few flights of stairs which sucks when you have been out walking all day, though it does keep you fit. Rooms, toilets ect are more than satisfactory for a hostel. The location is great, though there are a lot of people that prey on the tourists on the Venice boardwalk which is right out front of the hostel.
The only real downside to this hostel is the staff. Simple things such not bothering to reply to small talk kinda dampens the place
