It is now called United Backpackers. I enjoyed staying at this hostel as it isn't as big as the other one I have stayed in. The staff on reception are friendly and they have a good kitchen area to cool food with appliance that work. The only downside is that the rooms aren't air con so it does get really hot at night even with the fans on and window open. There also isn't a laundry room but it is due to open soon. There is large lockers under the bed to store your stuff and the location is amazing.

Average regarding cleanliness. Big kitchen but underground, no windows. No common area. I arrived before check in time with heavy luggage, I wanted to leave them in the hostel and go for a walk... I did it, but had to pay for storing them. I know I'm "just" a backpacker, but considering I stayed one week it was a very cheap and lame behavior on their behalf. Go somewhere else.

well its nice to have ur own room but u may as well be in a massive room with 70 others as ther are partitions not walls between rooms so can hear what everyone else is up too.... as for the kitchens....foul!!

Yay Laura's birthday. 25......She has finally caught me up. We got up early after a late night as we were getting tattoos today. I hurried out to get her a little birthday pressie, then we headed out to get the tram to Port Melbourne. Although it was very cold and windy, it was the first beach we saw in Australia.
Laura went first with her …

We arrived early morning Thursday into Melbourne and it is bloody freezing!! Suffering from some jetlag (we were both very confused haha) we had a series of naps managing to pull ourselves together for food and a get to know you game of 'necking it' involving an orange and teams of 4.

The next morning feeling more alert we heading downtown …

    And so the journey begins...

After non-stop hassling from a few of my followers (you know
who you are ladies), I’ve decided to take some time out of my busy schedule to
send some kind of proof of life.

So at the risk of cutting into my precious “free time”, I’ll
give you quick run-down of my first week in the land Down Under… …

When I got back around 7, Helen and I decided to go out.
We tried to go to Ponyfish Island, but they were closed already

Went back to the hostel, drank a bit, then went out to a popular backpacker bar (Turf Bar)
