      Hi Friends and Family
What a wonderful two weeks we have spent in Bali and Lombok. Both Julie and I agree that it was just the right mix of adventure/activity and rest and recreation; so much so that we both felt that we have been away for a month instead of two weeks. That we were able to have that down time at the end to reflect upon and absorb all the cultural highlights and we don't take it for granted that we were able to do ...

... cooked medium/medium-rare with special brown garlic sauce and fries...and two salads to share. The food came out quick and it was FANTASTIC! The petite sized filets were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was different than anything I had ever had. Dipping the fries in the garlic sauce was also a tasty delight and the glass of red wine made it all even better! Yummy, yummy! So much so, even we weren't ready for it! We gathered up our stuff and went to get the train. The ...

... 000 more bikes than people in the city. It's an amazing way to get around as the city is quite small and we covered a lot of ground in the day. My favourite place was Vondelpark, Amsterdam's own Central Park. We also stopped at a brewery, Brouwerij't IJ that is right outside an authentic windmill. The place was bumping for 3pm on a Saturday afternoon and of course we only drank water! Saturday night included more exploring through the red light district, which is also where ...

... down in the aisle, it's by far the best place to sleep, so much leg room.

Just half an hour outside Amsterdam we stop for a little cheese and clogs demonstration. This particular farm is run by an eccentric bunch. The cheese demonstration is first. It turns out to be more of a comedy show than a demonstration of any sorts, the guy has a particular fondness for Mumma Mel who he brings up the front to stand next to him. It is definitely one of those moments you have to be ...
