... snorkling as the waves were too high, we arrived back at the marina at 10am we were all dead tired (which is sort of reasonable after having to wake up at 5.15 the first day and 6 the second day) and as there wasn't really a shower on board felt extremely gross. When me, Julie, Petra (Öland which is a Swedish Island between Sweden and Finland, I learn so much on this trip), Becky (Canada), Fortez (Holland) and another girl arrived at our hostel (not everyone stayed at the ...

... because of the heat, I made it to the summit and wow! Perfect timing meant I caught sunset and took some photos of the beautiful views over Townsville. This town is a beautiful seaside town with a lovely marina, which reminds me of Christchurch back home where a best friend lives! Tuesday 11th was Dad's birthday, so being over the other side of the world meant I couldn't shower him with gifts! I spent the morning frying myself on the beach, and taking a 30 second dip ...

It was one of those moments where I was so glad we'd opted for the super duper camper van insurance. We had pulled into Townsville on a sunny Wednesday morning and immediately fell in love with the place. The main drag along the sea front, The Strand, is a gorgeous spot with a huge, man-made 'rock pool' at one end, which is surrounded by outdoor barbecues, picnic tables...and a massive resident lizard. After a barbecue lunch and a wander around the town centre, we pulled Bertha into ...

Ron and Sue Catch Up

A travel blog entry by badger2 on Sep 15, 2014

Contemplated getting tickets to the footy finals but
decided to watch on TV. Spent the day checking out all the old shops we used to
frequent, boy have they grown. David was playing chef all week cooking for us
and our friends so lots of food shopping was done with delicious results as
usual. Visited Sue and Ron and family for dinner and had a great catch up.
