We vonden de "Pub with no beer" het verhaal gaat dat de amerikanen in 1943 om 2 uur s'nachts de pub bereikten en deze letterlijk leeg dronken. De volgende dag kwam Dan Sheahan te paard (30 km) een drankje bestellen waar hij het trieste nieuws kreeg dat alles was op gezopen. After looking through all of the tourist books and speaking
to numerous different people over the last few days we discovered that there
really wasn’t a lot of tourist things available to see or do in Townsville
apart from the Castle Hill lookout, the foreshore and water park, and the V8s.
Lucky for us (as we had booked 2 nights in Townsville) the V8s were on, so off
we headed to the races and to see a different track and catch up with friends
