... to some of the others attempts at singing along, especially these 2 English girls sitting a couple of seats in front. We went down a road that had some 270 odd turns, which was ridiculous. Day 30 – Townsville

Vickie was keen to hit the Sunday markets today. We headed into Flinders Street and wandered along the stalls. There was a lot of tropical fruit for sale and a lot of it we had never heard of so we stayed safe and bought pineapples. We dropped into a second market at the Willows shopping centre but there wasn't much to see here of interest to us.

We spent one more day and night playing at the beach in Port Douglas before an overnighter in Cairns then heading for Townsville and Simone’s parents.

... Creek, a small town in western Qld that is doing it tough in this drought so any money you spend in this town will help keep them in business. They have established a free(donation) campsite on the eastern edge of town alongside a small billabong. There is fresh(good quality) water available to top up your tanks and plenty of shady or sunny sites to chose from. ... we showered and sorted things out before cooking tea. The whole site is set up for camping as well as some fantastic wildlife opportunities (tomorrow shall reveal all) with a large kitchen that was perfect to make our vegetable carbonara, with some extra made for tomorrow's lunch as an added bonus.
