Left the campsite at 9.35am. Leaving Innisfail and driving towards Tully and on to Townsville, we drove through many sugar plantations. Also lots of banana plantations, but particularly sugar cane. There were lots of cutters actively cutting the cane, and pouring the cut cane, via a shoot, into trucks. The cane is then moved by ...

... meter uit op het uitkijk punt. Prachtige views maar wel erg fris. Onder aan de klim was het 21 graden en boven nog maar 13. We hadden gelukkig een jas bij ons.Koffie en gebak in het Rainforrest café volgde.

In de middag begonnen met de voorbereiding voor de verhuis dag van morgen. Net lekker mexicaans gegeten.

Beautiful weather, so its time to take the kids to the Strand to the water park. After hours of fun in the sun, we have a small picnic by the sea. In the late afternoon / early evening we set off onto the next activity, BBQ by the river and lagoon. Beautiful setting, ducklings, tree house and massive park for kids to play in. All in a days' work...kids are knackered by the time we get home. It was a wonderful day ...

... oven - turned out pretty good (even the potatoes got a thumbs up from Scoey). We had an interesting neighbour - baby tree python about 2 foot long behind a piece of iron against a tree next to our camp.

In the morning, the plan was to head to Greenvale and then north - however, Murphy's Law struck - the fuel selector dial on the van fridge broke - didn't want to muck around with it so headed east to Townsville. Arrived ...
