Oceano Antartico No.1 Puerto Escondido, Pacific Coast, Mexico, .
we arrive at the bus terminal at 8.30 a.m. after having a horrid busjourney. the actual bus was lovely..first class again, reclining seats etc. but i had taken my malaria tablet the night before, and woke up screaming at the top of my lungs, having a horrid nightmare that the girls in front had pickpocketed me. shouting ´which one was it´and hitting them on the head. matt was a few seats down and came running, but i thought it was so real. horrid. missed my mum,and lukey badly. we catch a sho...
Puerto Escondido, Pacific Coast, Mexico kariandlukeybPuerto Escondido- Quite possibly the most relaxing place on this planet!! We spent our first day here on the beach relaxing, eating and of course surfing (this is what this place is famous for- plus Karrina made a promise to Bree she wasn't willing to break). Bree I hope u r proud of me, I think every surfer there was so ****** off at my poor effort at surfing!! Hey, I had fun tho! And I think I was pretty dam good at it!! Made some friends at the hostel and hung out drinking with them all ni...
Puerto Escondido, Pacific Coast, Mexico karrinaand now we are in Puerto. This place is absoluetly gorgeous. It is about 9 hours East of Acapulco. It is as hot but not as muggy and with less tourists. Its a sleepy little town with a population of about 20,000 and some of the best beaches we have seen so far. We are staying at a hostel called Tower Bridge, owned by some crazy British bloke who spends his days yelling at his dog Blackie and trawling the streets looking for tourists to lure into his hostel. So pretty much 90% of the time ther...

Stopped in Acapulco for a couple hours just to catch the next bus to Puerto Escondido. This is definetly my new favorite spot. Once a small sleepy surf town with perfect waves, Puerto is now blowing up and becoming a major tourist destination. It´s still relatively small but as I write this there are people working on a new Malecon outside and numerous hostels/hotels already developed with more to come. Kind of sad actually but with waves like this its ...
Puerto Escondido, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico joaquinaround... and the majordomo of the village hosts a big free 2 day fiesta with food, drink and live music - I was welcomed in, sat on a long table with 5 shocked brothers and offered tequila, beer, agua and a homemade sugar cane rum, also hot chocolate with brioche and then chicken soup with tortillas all in the space of an hour - very hospitable and not overly abused by the locals, though one or two borrachos were present as ever!
Santa Catarina Juquila, Oaxaca, Mexico ccchrissie... of these places, as if part of some big funneling process of tourism that pulls people into certain lovely places until they´re destroyed, and then moves on. Which, of course, I am. Always hard to address such *************s... After another overnight bus I arrived in Puerto Escondido, where I spent yesterday on the beach. There are a few beaches here, and our charming hostel is near the most secluded and nicest one. This beach is in a narrow, deep cove that sort ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico traveese... is REALLY hard to remember all the things you need to and try and balance when you are laying down, never mind when you get on your feet. It takes every single muscle in your body to surf. Great exercise for sure. I am thrilled I did it and really proud of myself for even trying. We will see how I feel tomorrow before I decide if there will be another lesson or not. And for those of you wondering, I did NOT surf ...
Puerto Escondido, Pacific Coast, Mexico roamingjodi... eating and reading our books. Now this is what I have been bothering to go to my job for, these past 6 months since I was last OS. Problem is I have to go back in two weeks. update 25/03/08 Milli says: Again, not sure where I left off so I'll just go back to the oldies at the hotel which were fun. Brown, wrinkly and saggy (which is almost me now...it's the beer I tell you) they were just taking it easy but they didn't really go further than Puerto Escondido. I myself ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico shanemilli... with news of Hillary's and John McCain's victories in Florida. We made friends with the local street car washers, who loved the Jeep and kept watch on it for us, as well as washing the car with their buckets and rags in the main square by the port. They even saved our parking place for us when we went out. In 1974, my parents rented a house on a beach in Manzanillo and invited me and my brother's family to stay. I wasn't sure we could find it, but John's navigation ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico spocream... Dad's name was supposed to be spelled), his wife is an American, originally from Nebraska, named Jean (we had an aunt named Jean). Their home base is in Germany, however, they have traveled extensively all over the world, most of which, in one, or the other, of the couple of home-made campers that they have built. I think Rudi could probably build almost anything. On this trip they are ...
