... The residence is called Springwood, and it is where Franklin D Roosevelt, the 32nd President of America was born, lived and was buried. He lived from 1882 to 1945. He absolutely loved it here, and I can tell why - it is the most glorious countryside, and reminded us of the lushness of South Virginia. First night in the Big Apple and I could use a big apple. Had a hot dog from a street vendor in Times Square (which incidentally is much smaller than I expected. . . The Square, not the hot dog) before stepping into the theater, but otherwise few calories today.

After walking around in the Toy Store and walking around in Central Park we then had to walk back to our Hotel. Plenty of exercise today! Not sure Steph and Aaron were too impressed but they did a great job. The other thing about walking everywhere is that it does take up our precious time. We tend to stop and look at other shops on the way, which is fun and you get to see more. Sometimes its the best way to get around.

... in November to dance.

We don't stay too long, but as we leave we notice that the line to get in now is quite lengthy. Paul is a bit put-out by the toilet-attendant who offers him soap and paper towel in a very confined area. Imagine having that job! Pretty awful if someone leaves you with their lingering odours, not like you can escape easily!

We're not big fans of the Midtown area and since it is now finishing-work time, the bars are packed anyway, so ...
