Thursday (3:00am) I went to the bathroom
and the light exploded in its socket all over the sink and floor. Attempting to
explain to the front desk what had happened was really difficult. Eventually
someone came up and we were able to show them the glass that was all over the
floor. A bellboy helped us move our things to a room further down the hall. We
hit the do not disturb sign before getting back into ...

Wednesday we packed our bags and got the
bullet train down to Sanya, for a two day one night getaway to the other side
of the island. First class tickets were only 20 yuan more expensive, so we
thought we’d splurge. Looking back we still cant figure out what the difference
was between first and coach on the bullet. The seats were identical, and the
coach toilet was a proper toilet, while we had a squat down one in ...
... br> taken by a local man. At first we thought that they wanted us to take a picture
of them, but he motioned for us to stand beside his father so he could get a
picture of us. It seems that some local Chinese outside of big cities do not
encounter “westerners” and when they do, love getting pictures taken with them.
It would be like us going to say any foreign country or exotic land and having
our picture ...
... football while I was completely awake/coherent, there is something pretty awesome about eggs benedict and the Superbowl. I'm thinking of keeping that tradition when I return to the states! Go Ravens!
