Venice to Rome

I was off to Rome today and very excited. From many people I talked to
that had been to Rome they all said good things. I got up at around
9am had a coffee at the hostel and was able to upload all my pictures
from the beginning of the trip before I left for Rome at 11:43am. It
took me about an hour and it was all done. Please check them out if
you have time.

I grabbed a quick breakfast/lunch and caught my train. I got a window
seat and was able to view Italy's g...

When in Rome

we spent only 2 nights in Rome. Not the cleanest city and we were able to see all that we needed in the 2 days that we were there. The Vatican in the morning which was very cool, it is such a big place, I was really hot cause you have to wear pants which wasnt the best choice of cloths cause it was 90 degrees again. We went to the Colosseum that evening which was really cool because its so big and so old. It was a cool city but we are off to Napoli now.

Rome

We got to Rome, and met up with Shawn and Annabell at the Spanish steps after we checked into our hostel (Hotel Des Artistes) and we had a great night. I had some bad news that day so I was bummed out in the later evening and I had an awful nosebleed in the middle of the night but it was otherwise a great day. We got bottles of wine and drank them by the Fontana di Trevi and ate cookies and chips and pizza. We met up with Annabell again the next day, (my birthday) and we met up with Thomas, w...

I'm Pretty Tired... I think I'll go home now

Rome

Almost home

Since I had been to Rome before I didn't feel rushed to do anything. I noticed tourists had increased at least 20 times over and it was almost unbearable to walk the streets. The weather has gone from being overly hot in Sicily to freezing cold in Rome. My tan is freezing and falling off me if that is possible.

The place I stayed at is basically a bar. Drinks aren't that cheap and I got drunk off anout 5o dollars worth of **** fosters. Weirdly bumped into...

I need to thank my co-worker Dave for finding this trip. I didn't know cheap airfare to Rome existed. Initially, this weekend was supposed to be Dave, Phu, Hiral, and I. But Phu canceled due to a family illness, and Hiral booked the wrong days (haha!), so that left Dave and I to explore the city many claim to be the greatest in the world. We stayed in the Yellow Hostel, which was actually pretty clean and roomy. The only downside was they didn't have any in-hostel bar. Once again, I teamed up...

A couple of unfortnate happenings....

So Rome is pretty beautiful, what I've seen of it anyways. I've had a few unfortunate things happen while here that have prevented me from fully exploring Rome. Just breifly, someone got a hold of my Visa number. I have no idea how since the card is still in my wallet. I was checking my bank account when Rome, Lazio, Italy burles

Rome wasn't built in a day, but it was seen in 1

We cruised on the train into rome, and started walking, once again invincible and able to do anything we wanted. As the person in charge of Directions, i lead us to the hostel immediately, known to most as the "Yellow Hostel" which was apparently a place of fun and wonder. Also it had free internet. I had recently been noticing how expensive everything was. Very expensive. My funds were very low, and I still had a while left to make it in Europe, so I was forced to make Rome a cheap city, whi...

Burning out like a Roman Candle

Late update: a couple of notes on some of the sites worth mentioning.

My first day I took a tour of the Vatican organized by the hostel. And it was a good thing I did, partially due to some of the nifty little anecdotes, such as the fact that Rafael set up his archrival Michaelangelo - by training and preference a sculptor who despised painting - with the commission of the Sistine Chapel ceiling expecting it to be a fiasco into which he could ride to the rescue. But mostly because I hu...
