Gerade mal 3,5 Stunden …
Hiking Abel Tasman National Park with Friends
The world is small and so we bumped into Marielle and Sebi which are good friends of us and were on a half a year around the world trip. Okay it actually was all planed nevertheless we were all delighted to see each other at the other side of the world.
However before they arrived from the North Island we had a look around picturesque …

Kaikoura
Milford Sound to Picton
We rolled back into Queenstown just before dusk and treated ourselves to dinner at a cozy, rustically decorated place called Chico's. In our riskiest bid for a cheap sleep yet we left Queenstown in the dark in search of a free campsite off the highway. Thanks to Sylvia's surgically sharp eyes we found it and slept in the car again. At the same site …

The Villa has been there a long time ago. Visited it the first time 10 years ago. Although it has expanded quite a bit since then its still a nice backpacker but its getting a bit packed. It's clean and has a well equipped kitchen with free coffee and tea (although in the past they served free apple crumble which they don't do anymore :( ). The mattress was a quite used and should have been replaced a while ago.
They give you 100 MB free Wifi - good, but I think these days every backpacker should have free unlimited Wifi like in Asia (if backpackers in countries like Laos can do it then it should definitely be possible in NZ).
Anyway, all in all I can recommend the Villa. You will like it.

This backpackers lodge is by far the nicest place I've neen in New-zealand. It has a nice patio where yuo can sit outside in the sun or near the fire place. The dorms are clean as is the kitchen. You can use their bikes for free. And the staff helps you with anything you ask. Too bad I can't upload a picture with this review, because if you see the place you'll fall in love with it.

Feels like home. Chatty owner with dog and some nice freebies. People were friendly. Not a party place
