To Barnaby Bear and Year One Hello hope you all enjoyed your summer holidays. We are in Sydney, Australia. The flight here was good it took us 7 and ½ hours from Singapore. The weather here is quite cold. In Australia August is in their winter so it is cold and rains a lot more. Their summer time is around Christmas when everyone goes to the beach …

I was in Sydney for three months in all. The first six weeks were frittered away soaking up the sun, drinking copious amounts of goon, oh and looking for a job! After trying a few different hostels, including a brief stint in Manly, which I had to leave due to extreme jealousy surrounding Kearas lovely sea view flat. Eventually I settled in the …

Thought I deserved a little holiday after my six weeks of hard work watching movies and eating pizza, so me and Clare from the Pink House had a bit of emotional goodbye from Sydney, and headed out on the twelve hour overnight bus journey to Byron Bay. Here we mate up with my mates Cara and Polly, who were chefs at the cinema and had decided to …

I arrived in Sydney in the middle of August and have had a fantastic time here. I can't believe my time is nearly up! Initially I stayed in a really nice friendly hostel called The Pink House in the infamous Kings Cross. It was off the main drag so I wasn't subjected to the local riff raff and as it was quite a small hostel I got to meet some …

So we left Byron Bay and opted to take an overnight bus down to Sydney to save money on a nights accomodation (always thinking me) and it turned out to be quite a comfortable journey. We even got the chance to stop at The Big Prawn restaurant in Ballina for fish and chips. This restaurant literally has a big prawn on the roof which i thought was …

    Where is the staff?

An ok place to stay if you like old, screeching houses. Young staff who likes to blend with the customers. That also makes the staff a bit difficult to find when you need something. I had to leave a note when I wanted to stay an extra few days and they were hard to find when I wanted to pay and leave. They forgot to tell me I had to get "personal" kitchen things from them (plate, knife, fork, spoon and mug) (must pay for it), I had to ask for it myself after searching the kitchen for a while and I was also suprised to hear someone from the staff telling a new visitor to "go steel someone elses cup" when they were out of cups. Bedrooms are dark. Clean? I don't know. I didn't mind staying there so not dirty at least. Good location.
