We landed in sunny Perth two hours behind Melbourne. So we're now seven hours ahead of the UK. A lovely city, apart from the fight the Aboriginals nearly caused on the bus on the way in!
Most importantly we picked up the Spaceships camper van. It's bright orange and called "Dyna-Soar"!
With our bags loaded in the back, we …
Perth Perth Perth, where to begin?
Got a job straight away at the hostel we were staying in so we didn't have to pay for our room. I loved working on reception. It was so much fun. You would just sit there all night and people from all around the worked would just come and chat to you and tell you their stories. It was so interesting. But …
Today is Father's day in Oz so bought a bottle of vino for my surrogate father for now at the farm. Felt bit weird it was in September but then again it does seem that most countries have Mother's day in May and Fathers' day in Sept other than the UK so maybe its just us that are out of place.

Escaping stickily humid Darwin in a quest to find and enjoy some fine weather, I was on the way to my last Australian destination, Perth. Continuously rated within the World's Top-Ten Best Cities to Live, this Western coast metropolis was also a great place to say final good-bye to the entire down-under. Hostel seems a bit run down and needs a good clean.
Staff could have been more helpful and friendly particularly for a tired single traveller new in town!
Facilities OK, good size communal area. Good location. "Free" Breakfast very poor, you need to put deposit down for cutlery and plate/bowl etc, and provide your own milk. Waste of time for me as only staying 2 nights. Doesn't even come close to other hostels I've stayed in. But I don't know what the comparison is like with nearby hostels in Perth.
