We had originally booked into a dorm room, but due to over booking were moved into a private twin - great news! The room had a fan and a t.v. which was good as we were staying suring the heatwave. The bread provided for breakfast in the morning is fresh and delicious. All staff were really helpful and friendly. Wifi doesn't work in all the rooms so communal spaces do get busy.

Ruth & Adrian drive us to our 2nd hostel 'The Nunnery' in the arty area called 'Fitzroy'. It's not actually run by nuns anymore though, shame I think we could've done with a detox. We say goodbye to Ruth and she gives us a leaving present. A personalised essential travel kit containing, cheezels (cross between wotsits & hula-hoops), teddy …

So I've stopped counting in days and also not blogged for a while because frankly, I've been far too busy having fun and what not!! Here's me backfilling what I did on Monday, my first day in Melbs (locals say you're not allowed to call it that but who cares?!?!). After another 5 and a half or so thousand miles and 9.5 hours with Cathay Pacific I …

      Melbourne (21/09) Great Ocean Road

On our fairly tight schedule we didn’t have time to go all the way to Adelaide but we still wanted to see some of the South Coast so we booked on to the Great Ocean Road day trip which would take us as far as the 12 Apostles. This meant an early start as we were on the road by half 7.

Every now and then we have to have a ‘great planning day’. This doesn’t mean that our planning is great, or even that it’s great to plan, great simply reflects the fact that it can monopolise the day. Today was our ‘great planning day’ for Australia. Well, it was suppose to be …
