First day back in NY - We arrived into the city on the Fung Wah bus at around 17:00. It drops you off on Canal St. in the heart of Chinatown. So we had to find our way crosstown to Broadway and East 29th aka the flatiron district! We had one night booked into the Gershwin Hotel. Apprently the critics choice in hostel!! We checked in and found our …

I took an overnight bus from Boston, but the bus company was terrible. I should have taken Greyhound or Megabus, but I took a Chinese company. Somehow, they didn't speak English and i was dropped off in the middle of the night in a street of Chinatown. Furthermore, they didn't care my cap I left in the bus when I left the bus. All in all, I made …

The New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her …

10:31am Central Park
Central Park is sooo beautiful! after getting off the subwy at 59th street and seeing all the amazing high rise buildings, I walked along the street a short way to find myself at the south west corner of central part. As soon as I walked into the park the noise and hustle bustle of the city stops. It feels so peaceful here …

    Very clean and well-run facilities. Twice-weekly BBQs, hospitable common areas and hot tub make this a great place to meet people.
    It's a little bit of a trek from Manhattan, but at least the metro station is nearby.

    great place, well equiped, nice rooms, kitchen. could do with a bigger communal area. Found the staff and generally people there not very friendly, and a problem on my last night there, being kicked out due to fire hazards, health and safety etc, being shut down, staff not very helpful at all in helping to find alternative accommodation! very poorly handled!

    Truly a hipster paradise! I loved the free breakfast where everyone was given food and just left to it in the kitchen. Very hippie-commune-esque.
