The sun was shining, the sky blue, so after our first successful day of walking tour, lake cycling and beach sunset, for our second and last day in Rio we planned a quick trip through the Centro followed by an ascent of Corcovado to see Christ the Redeemer and the city panorama.

Arrived in Rio to 30C heat! What a change from back home. Checked into the Lighthouse hostel which was a small hostel with great, helpful staff. Checked out the area and went for dinner at a Brazilian style BBQ - where they bring the meat round on skewers. Very tasty and very filling!
