Day 5: Another big day today trying to take advantage of every waking minute . There is so much to see and do and we would need years to even come close. It was hop on/hop off bus day today and we walked down to Victoria Station to get our tickets. We stayed on for most of the circuit disembarking at Tower Bridge and The Tower of London. There was a commentary which was very useful, particularly when I worked out that I could switch to the English Channel and not listen to it ...

... we started walking. Halfway down the street, we saw a soldier come out of the building so we asked him. He sent us back the way we came from and said the street map always sent people the long way round. We raced back yet again from where we'd been and finally made it. The lovely man in the museum told us we'd have made it there quicker if we'd just carried on from our first route. We just can't seem to get this tourist map sorted! Never mind, we must ...

... the British Museum (which overwhelmed me), the Tate Britain, and the Courtauld Gallery. What a great way to spend a rainy afternoon , and yes, London got drenched one day during my first week there. There was much artwork that caught my eye while wandering through the museums. ... and Kelly. Larry, Tom, Natalie, and Adam Allan came in after shift, and they've been keeping me company while I finish this entry.

So, final thoughts on London. All in all, a successful trip. The students all made it back. not nearly as many hiccups as there could have been. Nothing catastrophic happened. And the admin team managed to have some fun together in the process, which we all desperately needed. Another great day in the best city ever. :)

... missed the train by one minute and had to wait for 30 minutes for the next one. Oh well, an opportunity to get some coffee and a train snack. The ride to Hampton took about 45 minutes. Hampton Court Palace was the home of Henry VIII and his wives. It was so cool to know that we were walking in the footsteps of Henry, Anne Boleyn, Katherine of Aragon, Mary and Elizabeth. The Palace is beautiful, especially the tapestries. Henry had quite a collection, ...
