... of the National Historic Landmark District, including many of the mansions their millionaire owners called “cottages”. On Thurs, 27 March we enjoyed the tram tour through the Historic District and going inside a couple of the cottages. Unfortunately we were unable to take any photos inside any of the homes. After our tour we were treated to a wonderful Brunch at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel.

There are 233 species of birds that have been identified in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, 49 species of mammals, 64 species of reptiles, 37 species of amphibians and 39 species of fish. It was lunch time when we got to I95 and we stopped at Dennys to have some chili with the remaining tuna sandwiches - it was that kind of day! I was pleasantly surprised by the menu - lots of choice and reasonably priced. We plugged the hotel address into the Garmin navigator and found it was only about 30 minutes away.
