Houston, we have touchdown.

So I spent the night at Hatter’s Hostel in Manchester and it was a really nice stay. I grabbed a bottle of wine and watched the soccer game. When Brazil was getting spanked by Germany with a 5-0 score, I decided to give the wine to one of the girls next to me and retire for the evening.
I awoke at 4:30 unable to fall back asleep …

I have arrived

A travel blog entry by jonathonsnell

After a long day of flying I have finally arrived in Manchester. Quite tired as I haven't really slept for 24 hours now but I've already done a good deal of wandering and exploring. All the buildings look so neat while walking and it feels great to be exploring the city.

Day 3 here in Manchester and we are having a very lazy day as we are recovering from a 2 day bender! We were told Manchester is a great place to party, and they were right! We went out Friday and Saturday night and had the best nights! The clubs we went too all play mo town music! So basically all music from the early 2000s and everyone basically …

Chillin Out

A travel blog entry by xplorersarah

Manchester has been a good place for me to go at this point in my journey. It's not touristy so I don't feel like I should be doing something or going somewhere. There's great shopping, if I could afford to buy anything, but it's still good to look. The place is made for living in, rather than just visiting. It's been a great place to organise …

The Interview Process

A travel blog entry by tobybriggs

So after finally moving on from Ericeira via an emotional airport dropoff by Mark aka Curly aka Chad I was on the plane destined for Manchester. I had a hostel booked but other than that didn't really have much of an idea what was going on in/ after Manchester. To be absolutely fair I was on a bit of a downer for a couple of days. After coming from …

    Two Locations. Night and Day!

There are two Hatter's locations that are just a few blocks apart from each other. They are like night and day! The Newton location is a much more dirty hostel all the way around, and it doesn't accommodate with ensuite rooms. Definitely stay at the Thompson location. They both however have a great staff, a pool table, a huge dvd collection and large screen tvs, and a video game console of some sort. ENJOY! Great locations!

Cheap, nice stay right in the action of Manchester. Had a nice common room and kitchen and friendly staff. Got full on weekends so they jack up there prices by about 50%... bummer

Not an amazing place, the rooms and beds were pretty average but the common was decent enough.
