Planning and Recovery - Not much of anything
Caught a flight from Ketchikan to seattle. If I had had the time I would have preferred to take the ferry since I was quite enjoying the time I spent vegging out in the solarium watching the islands and sea go by. Strange as it might sound I dont always have time to do the things I want. While I have a year all up the trip is broken into 16 flights …
Seattle, Day 1
Welcome to Seattle.. cold, miserable and raining, yay! First thing we did was go to the Northface store and buy some water resistent/wind proof jackets as Ally is a wuss :P Our backpacks which we paid about A$450 in Sydney were US$205 here.. which is about AUS$250 :( This is why we waited until we got here to buy our jackets! We spent the day …
Seattle, Day 2 & 3
Sunday 21st Today we had a sleep in then went for a wonder. We went to the REI (recreational equipment in) which is a huggge store with all sorts of stuff. We got covers for our backpacks to protect the straps when they go through the airports and a thermal singlet thingy for ally to keep her warmer :P Were back in time at the hostel for the free …
Seattle, Day 5 & 6
Today we went on 'Washington State Ferry' to Bainbridge Island. The ferry takes about half an hour to get there. The day started off really nice weather but later turned into rain once we were over there. The ferry ride over was a really good way to see Seattle from another angle. We came back and Jason worked for a few hours. On the Thursday we …
Travel to Seattle from Vancouver
So today I travelled from Vancouver to Seattle, it took about 4 hours and was quite uneventful, apart from the driver who could not seem to find the clutch and nearly stalled at every single stop. It was the first time I really listened to my iPod and had it on shuffle, so it kept making me laugh when I would hear Frank Sinatra, followed by Queens …

Very good hostel. Clean and perfect beds, good size rooms, good and clean bathroom and toilets.
Tours all the time, good breakfast, free dinners.
We were not so happy about the kitchen facilities. It was small and not good equipped for many people to cock there at the same time.

This hostel was very welcoming and most importantly, clean. The breakfast is fantastic. I was in a 6 bed dorm - the beds have privacy curtains and individual lights. The dorms also have a little handbasin which was great. Lockers are big enough to put all your stuff in. Great stay in a super location right next to Pike Market.
