      Clean, comfortable and friendly

This is the first time that we have stayed in a hostel and we were unsure of what to expect when we arrived. We had initially booked two dorm beds but on reconsideration phoned to rebook in a private, ensuite room which was a great decision.

The room is comfortable with a fridge, TV, kettle and hot shower. We don't really need any more than that. Crockery can be loaned from reception for $20 per 1 set and you have access to the kitchen which is on the ground floor.

It's good for what it is, the staff are very helpful and there is a lot of info for backpackers. Only problem is that the walls are paper thin so we've been woken up a couple of times by people in the shower (our room is next to the male showers) or walking up and down the stairs.

There's also a smell of gas from the heaters outside our room but it is only noticeable now and again.

Not to take away of how convenient to town and other attractions including the Blue CAT stop it is. I would recommend you stay here if you are looking for basic, clean and comfortable.

Only fault being it wasn't set out right and seemed a bit antisocial otherwise good, would probably be different if on your own or in a 8 bed dorm

      Arrived in perth WA

Finally arrived, flew with Singapore airlines, even though we were in cattle class the air hostesses were classy and helpful, a far cry from the the usual Easyjet and Ryanair employees who tended to have "a face fitted around there makeup." Thankfully the flight was uneventful and landed on time. Did have noisy Manchester United fans for the first …

A very lazy morning meant that we didn't leave the hostel until 11:45 am. Not quite sure where all the time went considering we were up at 8 am but hearing the rain outside kind of put us off shifting anywhere quickly. When we finally did get out the rain had passed and we headed towards the Art Gallery of Western Australia. Now I will wholly admit …

      Time to leave Thailand behind!

A travel blog entry by mattandliz on Jun 30, 2014

So after 382 days in Bangkok it's time to say fare thee well. Thank god may I add! I don't think that I will miss the heat, traffic, language or culture. What I will miss is the price of everything. Thailand was very cheap for most things (especially beer). We rushed to pack everything and struggled to get it all into our suitcases. We'd already …
