      First few days in Colombia

The journey out here wasn't too bad, the first flight to Portugal was awful - super uncomfortable and turbulent, but then the 9 hours to Colombia was fine. Bogota (capital city) is slightly overwhelming and we were a bit nervous in our first taxi ride to the hostel. From what we've seen so far all the city and town centres are grid systems which …

I'm not ashamed to say I landed in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, a little nervous and unsure of what to expect. I was was now on my own, well aware of my lack of Spanish, and didn't really know much about Colombia (whilst trying to put the obvious stereotypes/ concerns to the back of my mind). I arrived at the Cranky Croc hostel in the Candelera …

Strange, because I hadn't heared overly great reviews About Bogota, but I was excited to explore. We arrived in the hostel cranky Croc, and I was allowed to check into the hostel which was …

Our journey to Columbia started quite sketchy. After been crammed on to a bus with four times the amount of people it should carry, travelling four times faster than the speed limit, being dropped off in a very questionable area we managed to eventually catch our connecting bus to the airport. Here we were met by some very pedantic airline workers …

Wednesday July 2nd Bogota. A long winding bustrip overnight with a bit of sleep and we saw sunrise in the cooler mountains towards Bogota. We arrived later than expected around 800am to the city limits lf this massive city of 10 million people. However peak hour gridlocked us and we got to the big bus station around 9am. The taxi lines snaked …
