I stayed for 8 days at the Crank Croc. The staff is super friendly, the food is good, and the location is excellent.

        Touristing it up

A travel blog entry by samshort25 on Mar 05, 2016

Last day in Bogotá. Need to come back before leaving Colombia - there's so much to do! Met some amazing people and planning to meet up with them again when our paths cross in a few weeks.

Touristing: Funicular to the top of Monseratte (would have walked up the 1500 steps, but it was closed), Museo del Oro (lots of gold, innit), Museo Histó …

Painful start to the day - sooo tired. Went on the Bogotá graffiti tour; it was really interesting. When I think of graffiti, I usually think of tags, but this was real real art. I especially liked the politically charged pieces. Photos to follow - my German friend Janine is a photographer and took loads, so I'm going to steal some from her.

First full day in Bogotá was great!

Woke up early and went for a run. Running at 2640m above sea level is hard. I ran for around 30 minutes and then walked the rest of the way with breakfast (delicious coffee and fresh fruit from a street vendor).

Was chatting to two girls from my dorm room and one of them was going to do a bike …

Flight to Colombia was uneventful. Read half of the Graham Greene book Our Man in Havana - so far, I highly recommend it.

Then. Absolute mare. In transit it seems one of the belt straps has been ripped clean from my rucksack. (See attached picture.) Those of you who are outdoorsy as I am (!!) will know that the majority of the weight from …

Angekommen in Medellín.
