Back to the best country in Euroope
Instead of essentially 18 hours on a bus with a trip back to Prague and overnight to Cologne, we decided to fly from Krakow to Berlin. Now this was interesting enough on its own, particularly had only experiencing Auschwitz that day to fly into Berlin. Moreorless, it wasn't the fact that it was going to be 18 hours, it was more the point we needed …
A looooooooong car journey
The car journey to Berlin was sooooo boring! I got into the minibus (from rideshare) but noone spoke to me. It was weird because the first rideshare was great, we all had such a good chat and everyone was friendly, but there noone seemed to want to chat. A couple of people started talking to each other in German but I couldn't understand and didn't …
So much history!
The train from Berlin to Paris is 13 hours! There was no place to sit so you pretty much had to lay in your bed the whole time. Luckily I had movies on my iPod! We stopped many times thought out the night but I have. I idea what route we took. We got into Berlin at 9am. We got to our hostel and we found our tyre was a free tour of the city with …
Where East meets West
On Monday we decided to have a bit of a quieter day after all that we had taken in in the past few days. We has made good friends with another Canadian, Emily, and so we spent the afternoon with her. In the morning we got caught up on a few things and got our trains sorted for Italy. The people here are wonderfully helpful! In France we had so much …
Nowhere...near...BERLIN!
Berlin is miles different than Munich. Not going to lie, it's a pretty grungy city but apparently the residents like it like that. The streets are filled with street art (graffiti, painters, sketch artists, etc.) which adds to the grungy feel. Overall I didn’t like the appearance but I guess the residents do.
We arrived in the early …

TravelPod Member ReviewsSt. Christopher's Berlin Hostel
As we had been already to Berlin, it was a brief stopover and a bed to sleep in before training it across Germany on some of the most efficient trains Europe and the world for that matter, has seen. We stayed at St Christopher's that night for a mere 8.00 euro each, including breakfast. St Christopher's, as many backpackers across Europe would know, is renowned for their hostels. Affordable, clean, a big bar and awesome staff. Again, it held up to its reputation and for that sort of money you couldn't go wrong.
