Dann ging es weiter nach Surfers Paradise. Hier haben wir uns den Luxus der Reichen und Schoenen von nahem angesehen. Wir verbrachten die Tagen am Strand, mit Bummeln und erkunden des Nachtlebens.
Surfers Paradise, Australia anna_australiaIt was 4:30am when my telephone alarm woke me from a blissful slumber - well as blissful as one could hope for, with my legs sticking over the end of my sisters' two seater couch. Raymond was already showering, I had completed that task the night before. With the taxi to tullamarine booked for 5:05am (at 5am the overnight surcharge of 20% no longer applies) we had to be quick. Shivering out on the street, we eagerly awaited the taxi. Thankfully we did not wait long and after quick hugs and pr...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia drgoooAs the most easterly point of Australia, Byron Bay is the first part of the country to see the sunrise. I'm not sure if this is really all that much to brag about, firstly because somewhere like Sydney probably only has to wait a few seconds longer, and also because most sane people are still asleep when all this rising is going on. That usually includes us but, for some odd reason, we decide to go on a 'Sunrise Tour'. For $15 a head, a guy picks you up at your hostel, drives you out to the ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia jambo... was blissful.
Later on we had more BBQ kangaroo and spent a lazy evening watching a film (what a treat!).
We have got internet access whilst we are at Cedar Lakes (hurrah) so hopefully the blog will be bang up to date sometime soon. We can’t believe how bad internet access is. I suppose we are spoilt in the UK as there are lots of companies competing for business so prices are low and performance is good. Everywhere we have been so far we ...
So in order to sell our next van, we have moved back into toms house and have been couch surfing. Instead of rent, we have been cleaning the house(hurricane force), and cooking meals......A win win situation for us. You might be asking where is mike d and JP, and so are we! Just kidding Mike and JP have opted not to stay at the house and have been travel ling through northern oz where we will meet up with them in a few days. They have pictures and blogs that will hopefully be ...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia baliaussietrip... confront the kids. He wisely decides they are too drunk to deal with and calls the police and gets the hell outta there. Im pleased I didnt walk back!! The journey back takes 10 mins and im back at the hotel in my giant bed with my smeg microwave and beepy dishwasher one more time. There is a bruise under my left foot, but nobody will be surprised about that as you all know im a bit risky and would rather jump fences than the normal route like normal people ;-)

Gold Coast, Australia jas_310385Right then guys, at last we have transport so have been progressively making our way up the east coast of Australia, desperately searching for some decent weather. We haven't found it yet though! In Byron bay at the minute which i have been assured never really gets cold, well trust me it does. We had a night in the camper last night which was bloody freezing!! Anyway so we had a few nice days in Sydney, mainly messing about in and around the city, a few nice boat trips in the harbour ...
Brisbane, Australia trioAfter the Great Barrier Reef we decided to spend one more day in Cairns just hanging out around town. We got to sleep in, then went swimming in the lagoon, which is a free public pool right on the shore. Too many box jellyfish and not enough nice beaches. The pool was great though! The next day we hoped on a bus and headed to Townville. Once there I got to meet up with my friend Nick Verwymeren (who I hadn't seen since graduation) for ...
Brisbane, Australia lindseyj... as we could find, we booked a van to pick up the next morning. After such an exhausting days work!! we headed to the only pub in the town, right across from our hostel. It was an evening of good conversation, good red wine and the beginning of Kate's education in the fantastic game of Poker! The following morning we got a lift into the city and headed by train to pick up our home for the next 14 days. To say ...
Brisbane, Australia chris_lynz... and stepped into the tv room for the first time since I'd got back from Thailand and was confronted with a wall of smell that nearly knocked me off my feet. I survived in their for a couple of hours and then went back over to the hotel just before 10 when a different recptionist gave me the room number. I went up to the room and my mom wouldn't let go of me. It was good to see them both but it really didn't seem that long since I last saw them. After getting there acts together ...
